CHALK FARM POOL LEAGUE ANNUAL PRESENTATION NIGHT 2009/10 (Amended time) |
The Chalk Farm Pool League's annual presenation night will be held on Satuday July 31st 2010 at The Regent's Park Tennants Association (address below) starting at 7:30pm. (not 7:00pm as previously stated)
As well as the usual presentation of this year's trophys there will be a DJ, raffle and buffet available.
No tickets are required for this event and ALL CFPL members, friends and family alike are more than welcome.

CHALK FARM POOL LEAGUE AGM |
Our AGM will take place in the back room of the Boston Arms on Monday 9th August from 8pm.
All members of the league are invited to attend and air any views / issues they may have from this season which will benefit the league for the season(s) ahead.
All captains will be expected to represent their teams at this IMPORTANT meeting, have their say and vote on any points raised that will benefit the league.
For next season we NEED new committee members to join us. We (current committee) need members who want to show a more active interest to apply for a committee position and assist us in running the league.
Please contact Simon if you want to help us in running the league. (e-mail below).
If any members wish to raise any points for the meeting please email Simon Wild (Chairman) at bornwild@hotmail.co.uk ASAP and NOT use the chatbox on the right, so that an agenda can be prepared.
CFPL NEW FORUM |
As regular visitors to this site will be aware, we've been having a a lot of trouble logging into the forum recently.
This was down to problems with the forum suppliers (invisionplus).
There is now a new forum up on the site supplied by freeforums.org. Hopefully this will be a bit more stable than the last forum was recently.
Members and guests will be allowed to view topics on this forum. however anyone wishing to post a topic will have to
re-register.
Over the course of the next week or so I'll be personalising it a bit more in keeping with the old CFPL forum by adding a new banner and more categories etc..
Apologies for any inconvenience.
CFPL MASTERS TROPHY 2009/10 SATURDAY JULY 10th 2010 - KINGS CROSS POOL CLUB |
The final trophy of the season, The Masters, will be held at the Kings Cross Pool Club on Saturday July 10th 2010
starting at 1pm.
As usual there will be 32 automatic qualifiers for the event which, this year, will entail the 21 players ( 11 in the 1st Division, 10 in the 2nd Division) with the best records for their individual teams over the LEAGUE season 2009/10 - followed by the next
best 11 players with the best win percentage record overall in both divisions.
As opposed to the two previous years, where the event was held over TWO days in the Boston Arms, this year's Masters will be played over ONE day, given the fact that we have more tables to play on in the venue where it's being held.
This is the 3rd year of the Masters - In the previous two seasons it was held in the Boston Arms over 2 days at the end
of June and was a big success, with Paul Smith (Unicorn now Boston Mavericks) triumphing in the inauguaral season in 2007/08 and Danny James (Sir Robert Peel 'A') picking up last year's trophy.
Below is the list of this year's qualifiers...

Can all Captain's please inform the respective players in their teams of their qualification and let the committee know as
soon as possible if any players cannot make it so we organise replacements.

*Many thanks to the Chairman, Simon Wild, who has solely calculated the stats in regards to this year's Masters.

2nd Division Update |
During the first couple of weeks of the season there were a few teething problems in the 2nd Division where teams failed to fulfil their fixtures or hadn't fully commited themselves to joining the league.
There have also been several recent 'no shows' which has lead to fixtures not being fulfilled.
As a result of this an average winning score has been awarded to the non offending teams (in RED on the Fixtures link).
In the case of the opening day's fixtures non-offending teams are awarded the score of their FIRST win as stated in the constitution.
The 2nd Division table on the right has now been updated to include these amendments and all results and tables from previous weeks can now be viewed in full on the Fixtures/Results/Tables link.
If there are any questions regarding the rules of the constitution, please feel free to contact one of the committee members.
If there are any questions regarding the calculations of the scores on this website, please leave a message on the box on the right.
Over the course of the next few days there will be printable results/tables sheets on this site available to download.

Division 2 - Important Information |
There have been some changes to the 2nd Division line up. We, the committee, were wrongly informed that The Ashburton had dropped out. It now appears that the governor is very keen to join the league and has a team. They will start from league week 3 (5/10/09).
As stated on the Website Forum, the Leighton Arms have joined the league and will take the place of The Ashburton as No. 1 on the fixture list. The Ashburton will now be No.4 taking the place of The Wig & Gown.
Match Cards |
There appears to have been some confusion regarding who is responsible for dropping the match card up to the Boston. This has been the case with both new teams and some established teams.
Constitutions rule 29 states: The winning team will be responsible for informing the committee of the result. This applies also to the winners of the singles, doubles etc. The results card/sheets must be completed and forwarded to the committee to arrive no later than 12 noon on the Friday after the match. Cards/sheets must be delivered to the Boston Arms where the signature book must be signed to verify delivery. Any match card not received will result in the winning team losing ALL points. Any singles, doubles etc result sheet not received in time will result in the player(s) losing their place in that competition. Reinstatement thereafter is at the discretion of the committee.
The signature book and folder is kept behind the bar. Please ask a member of staff.
Cancelled/Unfulfilled Fixtures |
Already this season we have had teams from both divisions cancel matches without due notice or not turn up (see constitution rules 22 & 41). In this instance the matches will not be replayed but the average winning score will be given to the offended team.
As some teams had not played a game yet they will be awarded the score of their next win (constitution rule 31)
Can any teams that haven’t, make sure they bring their player registration forms into the Boston and sign the signature book to verify delivery ASAP.
Any additional information required can be found on this website. Alternatively contact a member of the committee.
Liam Tarrant KO Cup 1st Round DRAW |
The Liam Tarrant KO Cup 1st round draw will be held at the Boston Arms on Wednesday 7th October 2009.
This is not a compulsory attendance (finable) meeting however all captains / members are welcome to attend.
New Committee |
At the AGM on August 17th the previous committee members of Dave Hempstead, Mick Gilligan, Stephen Moriarty and Mark Piercey stood down as head representatives of the CFPL.
Nominees were then requested to take the CFPL forward and after these nominees where accepted, and votes cast, the committee for the 2009/10 season onwards are as follows....
Simon Wild - Chairman
Ross Deller - Vice-Chairman
Alp Sezer - Secretary
PJ Fahey - Treasurer
I, John Cinnamond, will continue working with the new committee as usual in my role of updating the website when needed and the previous committee have made it aware that they will continue as CFPL members and will be available in an advisory capacity.
On behalf of the CFPL we'd like to thank the previous committee who gave up their time involuntary, in some cases for a vast number of years, and wish both them and the incoming new committee the very best of luck in the future.
